Description

I was surprised to get this good of an image - seeing conditions were "Poor" on the first night, and intermittent clouds reduced the quality of the subs on the 2nd night (I had to toss out about 1/3 of those). Its maximum distance from the horizon didn't get above 31 degrees, so it stayed in the more hazy portion of the sky the entire time.

I really like the amount of OIII present in this nebula, which is unusual compared to others I've imaged.

The nebula (formed about 70,000 years ago) was created by the stellar winds of the Wolf-Rayet star EZ Canis Majoris, which is currently in a brief pre-supernova phase.

Description: Completely reprocessed this image taken a little over a year ago. This time I just went with the L-extreme's star halos rather than dressing them up with artificial star spikes.
